9 Months & Happy Autumn!
Happy Autumn! Andy had his 9 month well visit with his pediatrician last Wednesday. He had his flu shot and blood draw (to test for lead..something they do when babies turn 9 months). He did not cry at all for his blood draw. The nurse said that was the first time that she had ever experienced a baby not crying for a blood draw. Andy is now 29.5 inches tall (75%ile) and 21 lbs., 13 oz. (75%ile). The doctor said he is very healthy. He is now crawling backwards and forwards (although he prefers to go backwards). Andy loves to stand against objects like his little house, couch, and playpen. This weekend he learned how to sit up when he is on his tummy. He is so much fun! Everyday is a new adventure. This week, we have given him a few "table foods" (early June peas, shredded mozzarella cheese, yogurt puffs, and very small pieces of deli roast beef). He still love his Gerber puffs though!

Now for the couch exercise...
What is this? A pumpkin with a face?

Whoa!

Thanks for watching me this past Friday night, Grandpa Roy!

8 Months Old & Update

Yeah...that's right, I'm 8 months old!
Greetings! It is so hard to believe that our little guy is now 8 months old. Andy has been standing up with minimal assistance, babbles non-stop, rolls all over, "scoots" around the room on his behind, and wants to crawl. He is so much fun! Everyday after work, I rush to day care to pick him because I enjoy being with him so much. Andy loves day care and being around the other three kids. Andy also began a swim class on Sunday afternoons and loves that as well.
The graduate students I teach are in their final semester, so I have been very busy reading/editing their final thesis papers (journal articles). I will be applying for another go-around, so wish me luck. I have amazing freshman students on my case load this year at my other passion of teaching high school special education. It is a very diverse group of young adults with varying intense special needs ranging from autism to cerebral palsy.
Here are some recent photos of our little guy:

Is this Clifford the Big Red Crustacean?

This lobster makes a great pillow!
(Jack, hope you like your orange one.)
First day back to day care!
Passed out after swim class...
Off to a Labor Day Picnic...

Look at me! I can stand up!

What? There are frogs all of my pajamas?

Go Brewers!
Monday, August 11, we took Andy to his first Milwaukee Brewers Baseball game. He did great and loved it!
This is pretty cool! Great seats!
Mommy's favorite player..Prince Fielder!

Taking a break from the sun in the concourse.
Breaks over...let's go back to our seats!
Wow! Are these the famous sausages?
8th inning...I'm heading to dreamland!
Back to the car! Brewers won!

What a great day! (learning how to use a sippy cup...)
