Emma's Birthday Party

Yesterday Andy attended his first birthday party for his new friend, Emma. Emma (age 1) is the daughter of Myria and Kevin, who also have another daughter, Nora (age 4). A while back, I used to work as a waitress and hostess at Mathew's Past and Present Inn in Cross Plains two nights a week in addition to teaching. Myria is Mathew's sister. I also got to know Myria and Mathew's dad, Steven and their Grandma Shriley. They are an amazing family. It is wonderful that we still keep in touch. It was exciting for me when Andy got the birthday invitation in the mail.

The party was at Bean Sprouts Cafe in Middleton. What a darling kid-friendly place. They make their own baby food! Even though, Andy couldn't eat the food yet, he had a great time.

Busy Times!

On Saturday we went to Aunt Janet and Uncle Pat's to watch the Badger game and had a yummy Easter dinner with Great Grandma Ruth, Uncle Jim, and Grandpa Roy.

Uncle Jim rocks!

Aunt Janet is cool!

Thanks Cousin Jack for letting me borrow your "Future Badger" shirt!

On Sunday we went to church for the first time since Andy was born. He slept through the entire service until the very end. Everyone was happy to finally meet Andy.

Maybe people will think the penguins on my overalls are Easter eggs!

On Tuesday Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Sue, and Cousin Jacob came up to visit for the day since Jacob is on Spring Break this week. What fun we all had!

How you doin'?

Two-month check-up

Andy had his two-month check-up on Friday. Here's his stats: Height=23.5 inches (75th percentile), Weight=13 lbs 5 oz (90th percentile) and Head Circumference=16.25 inches (95th percentile). As you can see from his stats he is growing big and strong. We are no longer concerned about him gaining weight as we were in the beginning. He also had his two-month immunizations. He wasn't too fond of the shot part of the deal, however, he did not have any reactions later. Andy's pediatrician said he is very healthy.

Here are some photos of Andy during the Big Ten Men's Basketball Championship Tournament game between Wisconsin and Illinois yesterday. Andy's Purdue Alum Mommy was sad that Purdue lost in the first round of the tournament, but Purdue will be playing in the NCAA Tournament. Boiler Up!

Is there a badger on my shirt?

I wonder if we can get a badger as a pet?

Is it time to sing "Varsity'?

WIS-CON-SIN!

Why does Mommy have a guy named Purdue Pete on her shirt?

Yea! Badgers win!

What a good game...I'm tired!

My First Stroller Ride

Today, my Mommy took me for a stroller ride while she walked. It was in the high 40 degrees outside...heat wave! Spring is in the air! I got some fresh air and vitamin D!

Two Months Old!

Grandpa Roy, Andy, & Mommy

Andy turned two months old on Sunday (3/9), so his Mommy, Daddy, and Grandpa Roy took him to Gino's to celebrate. Even though he could not eat the food yet, Andy had a great time. He is dreaming of what to order in the future...

Andy has his two month check up Friday (3/14), so we will keep you posted with his stats in the near future. Until then, here are some more photos:

Billy Joel!

I was so excited this past Christmas when Grant gave me tickets to see Billy Joel . I have never seen him in concert, unlike my husband who has seen him five times in the past. The concert was Sunday night, March 2 in Milwaukee @ the Bradley Center. Our friend, Therese, had offered to watch our baby (at that time we didn't know for sure what we were going to name him Andy) when she found out I got the tickets for Christmas. However, two days before the concert, she came down with influenza. Luckily, our friends Michelle and Dave offered to watch Andy for the evening. They have two children (Ella: 4 years, Brady: 21 months).

Michelle and Dave said Andy did really well. The only time he cried was when they were putting his onesie on. Ella had a great time with Andy. So much so that she wanted to burp him and Michelle said no, so she started to cry and said, "Andy likes me more than all of you!" (Too cute!) She even drew him a picture that we have on our fridge. On the other hand, Brady is not too sure what to think of Andy. It was hard for me to leave Andy, but I knew he was in good hands with Michelle, Dave, Ella, and Brady. A huge thank you to all of them!

Also, a big thank you to my mom for coming up last Tuesday to watch Andy while I went to a doctor's appointment and to Grandpa Roy for watching him for a little bit on Friday night, while we went to our Lodi Staff Holiday Party @ the Dorf Haus in Roxbury. After all of these little outings, I am realizing it is good for me to get out and enjoy time with my husband. In addition, Andy enjoys hanging out with his Grandparents as well!

Before the concert, we ate at Buck Bradley's on Old World 3rd Street in Milwaukee. It is known as the longest bar east of the Mississippi. The Billy Joel concert was incredible! One of the best concerts I have attended. Billy Joel was amazing! He is a great entertainer. Not only does he perform, but he really interacts with the audience by telling interesting stories. I am so glad I got to see him. Billy Joel Concert Score: Anne: 1 time, Grant: 6 times. Thank you to Grant for a wonderful Christmas gift!

Here are some recent photos of Andy (who now likes to smile, sit up with help, and move his arms & legs all over!):
